We value a growth mindset and welcome all feedback!

We currently do not have a set uniform, however we do have specific requirements that students must meet before being able to participate in classes. This is for health and safety reasons and varies based on each class. Please refer to the ‘Achieve Uniform Requirements’ section under ‘Classes’ for specific details.
You are most welcome to purchase Achieve merchandise from administration during the appropriate hours, however, these items are currently not compulsory but are encouraged.
Age groupings and levels — including Recreational, Foundation and Extension — are determined between the Director, the student and their family. Each level is based on set curriculum and syllabi, and then adjusted according to the individual student. Levelling is assessed on technique and developmental progress and is unique to each genre/class (for example, a student may be in Extension level for Tap but Foundation level for Ballet). This allows us to best support, challenge and extend students in the way most suited to their learning needs and goals.
There are several reasons for this approach:
• It enables true differentiation, ensuring students who require additional support receive it, while also providing opportunities for challenge and growth. This helps create an optimum learning environment for every student (Vygotsky, 1987; Gredler, 2012).
• Mixed-age groupings allow students of different ages to learn together
• It reflects the diversity of professional dance environments; and,
• Children thrive when learning alongside peer mentors and role models. Research shows that in these mixed settings, students often reach their individual goals more quickly (Winkler, 2009).
Please note that minimum age requirements for classes will still be enforced. These age thresholds are set in accordance with exam and eisteddfod regulations, curriculum standards, developmental considerations and student well-being.
